Overview

Trend Matrix answers one question well: what is the trend, on every timeframe, right now. Eight timeframes from M5 to W1 are evaluated with the same method and shown as a grid of colour-graded cells. Green through to red, with strength shown by saturation, so a glance tells you both direction and conviction.

The alignment score counts how many timeframes agree and weights them by size, giving you one number for whether you are trading with the larger picture or against it. On the chart itself, a trend ribbon runs under price, coloured by the current timeframe read.

Everything is computed on closed bars. Nothing on the historical chart was drawn with information that arrived later.

How it works

  1. 01

    Same method everywhere

All eight timeframes are evaluated identically, so the cells are comparable.

  2. 02

    Grade the strength

Colour shows direction; saturation shows how strong the read is.

  3. 03

    Score the alignment

One number for how much the timeframes agree, weighted by timeframe size.

Signal behaviour

Every TradingVAI product states plainly how it behaves as new bars arrive. This one is classified as non repainting.

How this tool behaves on the chart

Non-repainting

Once a signal is printed on a closed bar it never moves or disappears. What you see in history is what you would have seen live.

Each cell in the matrix and every segment of the trend ribbon is computed from closed bars on that timeframe. Once a cell has been set for a completed higher-timeframe bar it never changes. The live cell for the current, incomplete bar updates as that bar forms — which is expected — and settles at its close.

Questions

Which timeframes are in the grid?

M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1 and W1 by default, plus your chart timeframe if it is not already one of them. Each row can be swapped for a different timeframe.

What method decides the direction?

A combination of trend-following and strength inputs evaluated per timeframe. The exact weighting is exposed in the inputs so you can tune it, and the same method runs on every row — that consistency is what makes the rows comparable.

Is a high alignment score a buy signal?

No. It tells you the timeframes agree on direction. Plenty of strongly aligned trends are late trends. Use it as context for a decision you make on other grounds.
